Discovery / Exclude Nodes from LAG Interfaces?
« on: October 05, 2018, 01:22:52 pm »
Hello Community,

how can I exclude LAG Interface from the Node Population Feature?

Unfortunately my Nodes are mapped to the Coreswitch LAG Interfaces, instead to the there connected Accessswitch and the corresponding Real Edge-Ports.

When I Re-Discover the Accessswitch I see the nodes there, but only until the next Cron/Manual Re-Discovery of the Core..

Thanks,
Jan

Update, only one last switch doesnt "switch" from IP to sysname and it still mapped to a "Class Node Event" (Monitoring-Events.php)

(Also this Device BaseMAC (Enterasys) is listed in nedi.conf under ignoredmac - See https://forum.nedi.ch/index.php?topic=2156.0)

Thanks; I also had to make sure that the (Enterasys) Switches send their SysName instead of the IP.

Code: [Select]
set logging hostname sysName

Discovery / Re: Enterasys S3 Chassis - No Nodes (Solved, Patch included)
« on: September 06, 2018, 09:11:36 am »
Hello Seth,

I need some guidance/help. We have a few S3 chassis from Enterasys, I've populated most of the DEF file and get interfaces, duplex, counters, vlans, modules etc. When I scan, i get almost everything except for all of the Nodes.

[..]

Code: [Select]
During the Write Nodes, i see 96x [code]LOOP:001f45e8c45b on ge.2.24 vl0 belongs to this device xxxxxxx!"
But only 10 nodes are inserted/updated.
Code: [Select]
WNOD:10 inserted, 0 nodes moved and 0 updated in nedi.nodes
Not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
-Seth

I have the same problem with Enterasys/Extreme S4 Chassis Switches.

Tried to reproduce your fix, but libsnmp.pm looks quite different nowadays  :-\

Do you have something for the "current" version 1.6.100p?

Thanks & Cheers,
Jan

Ah, like them old Cisco 3500XL switches. You can add |^001f45 to ignoredmacs, which should help...

@All:

Remo found out that this Regex is not used for the needed Interface MAC addresses.

Due to that, when using NeDi 1.6 it is also needed to modify row 2799 (3136 when using NeDi 1.8 ) in libsnmp.pm:

Code: [Select]
if( $mcst == 1 ){

Hi all,

I'm just wondering how I can map syslog messages to the real Device-Name and also embed that messages in the Event List on specific Devices-Status.php page?

At the Moment on Monitoring-Events.php the Source Row ist showing the IP Address of the incoming syslog messages (activated via System - Services, Port UDP 1514)

Cheers,
Jan

.. until then I have to figure out, how I can extract the "Devices-List.php?in[]=vendor&op[]=~&st[]=Cisco" List (Serial Number only) from the NeDi Database via the Bash  8) .. and Integrate this query command in my Alpha script  :P

Code: [Select]
# Script Alpha

## Lookup against Cisco API to get Service Coverage Status

json=$( curl -s -k -H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" -X POST -d "client_id=..." -d "client_secret=..." -d "grant_type=client_credentials" https://cloudsso.cisco.com/as/token.oauth2 )
token=$( jq -r ".access_token" <<<"$json" )

# Use received Token now for an individual Request
curl -X GET -s -k -H "Accept: application/json" -H "Authorization: Bearer $token" https://api.cisco.com/sn2info/v2/coverage/status/serial_numbers/JMX...

Nope, the addresses are the Burned-in-MACs. On this single device 449 loop messages  ::)
