Interface name

Nedi 2.x

I have encountered alot of devices (100+)  where the length of the "interface name" is longer than Nedi allows.
Mostly I see it in Cisco ASA,   FortiGate, and in Cisco UCS devices.

When I try to add devices with "to long interface names"  it fails.

that means that I cannot use NeDi for any kind of device that have to long "InterFace name",  this is a major problem.

mabe this is this easily solved by changing the varchar(32) in every table  to varchar(64) ?

I prefer to shorten the names (Shif function in libmisc.pm). It's usally some redundant vendor specific nonsens anyway. Make sure you don't have ifdesc in the .def! Leave empty if 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.1 doesn't work...
Please consider Other-Invoices on your NeDi installation for an annual contribution, tx!
