Hi there,
We have a problem with the backup of our WLAN controller. We have a couple of Cisco 5508s and a couple of newer 9800s. According to NeDi, both types report with "IOS-wlc" as the operating system. We use TACACS+ for authentication, and after logging in, the 5500s show this prompt: "(Cisco Controller)>". This is also covered by the configuration in libcli.pm. Unfortunately, this config block does not work for the 9800s, which are more based on IOS. Here the prompt after login shows e.g. "c98-a #", and "show run" shows the configuration. This does not work like this with the older 5500s, it shows here:
(Cisco Controller)> show run-config
Press Enter to continue ...
System inventory
NAME: "Chassis", DESCR: "Cisco 5500 Series Wireless LAN Controller"
PID: AIR-CT5508-K9, VID: V03, SN: FCWxxxxxxxx
Burned-in MAC Address ............................ xx: xx: xx: xx: xx: xx
Power Supply 1 ................................... Present, OK
Power Supply 2 ................................... Present, OK
Maximum number of APs supported .................. 500
Press Enter to continue or <ctrl-z> to abort
The command sequence is completely different, but both are covered by IOS-wlc.
How can we backup both systems with NeDi?
Greeting
Rainer
