Discovery / Re: Investigating backbone 10Gbit 1Gbit

In Devices-Status you see all device links in the table on the top-right side. The 3rd column shows bandwidth. If you click on the neighbor map (2nd map), you can get a graphical representation. Increase the number of hops with finger up button (Range+1), Select Bandwidth 2 in the Distribution section, where you see -Information- on the selectbox. Below that make the Node Range negative (e.g. -5) to handle redundant links (I know I should change that ;) This will compress your map, but you can increase link length to fix that...

Ugh 20Gig??? I'm afraid it's not designed to handle this...

At the beginning of a -v discovery, do you see this?

CLI :IO-Pty loaded

I noticed different behavior (like very long pauses) on some devices when NeDi connects with SSH. Strangely enough a user can connect manually without any issues...

Have you tried CLI reset in Devices-Status by clicking on red icon next to CLI? Only then will NeDi retry CLI access. Also I don't think it's related to the update as there were no changes in 2.3...

You seem to be missing the vendorinfo table, as it wasn't created when updating from previous versions. NeDi 2.4 will create it with the DB update. Alternatively, you can download the table at http://www.nedi.ch/services/customer-area/index.html and add it via System-Files -> Import Database.

Discovery / Re: Permissions for discovery only

The user needs to be in the manager group by default. You can change that in nedi.conf like this:

module   System      NeDi         radr   net

Yepp, you got it!

I know the security restrictions can be annoying, but it's still better than being hacked ;)

You can add a single device with Devices -> Add, which calls a limited System-NeDi (usable by non-admins)...

Look around line 143 in System-Files.php. This (temporary) crontab is installed via system command and the result printed out...

News / Re: Quiet here

Yes it got rather quiet in recent years. Do you look at nedi.ch at all? You'll see news up there and find the NeDi 2.3 public version in Downloads (2.4 is available for paying customers). So yes, it's being developed...

GUI / Re: disable line-wrap in devices names?
« on: February 26, 2024, 11:12:22 am »
Try adding a nw to line 314 (or so) and wrapping should be prevented altogether:

TblCell("$dev[device] $upst",'',"$statbg ctr b s nw"

If you see this in in a list it's done by the browser. Try making the window wider or use fewer columns. If you see the names cut-off e.g. in Topology-Table you can increase the name widtth in User-Profile.

It kinda grew over the years so no ;)

But have a look at libdev.php. It shows how I defined the last letter (A is a stand-alon AP and C controlled by a wlan-controller):

$ltico['A'] = 'wlan';
$ltico['C'] = 'wlab';
$ltico['D'] = 'dev';
$ltico['F'] = 'voip';
$ltico['H'] = 'nhdd';
$ltico['O'] = 'brld';
$ltico['P'] = 'print';
$ltico['T'] = 'disp';
$ltico['U'] = 'flas';
$ltico['W'] = 'nwin';
$ltico['V'] = 'cam';
