Configure Components with NeDi?
« on: June 02, 2010, 04:39:37 PM »
Hi, I have a question:

I know that you can really good monitor your Network and Networkcomponents with NeDi. But is there a possibility to configure the Netzworkcomponents? For example to set the IP-Address of a Routerport or change the Subnetmask etc.? SNMP supports this function, but I canít find a Tool which support booth
--> Monitoring AND configuration.

If NeDi support it, can you please post some Links to this function? (Docs - Tutorials...)

Thank you!

Lukes

Hi,
yes you can !

You can import configuration with the -B (uppercase), it will write different configuration in your database.
You can also execute some commands (Device -> Write)

Be sure Nedi can have privilege permissions to your device (it can execute "enable" on devices) so fill the right line ine nedi.conf
Code: [Select]
usr     your_login       your_pass     your_enable_pass

I'll also work towards SNMP set capabilities as I'm working on the SNMPv3 implementation now...
Please consider Other-Invoices on your NeDi installation for an annual contribution, tx!
