Problem with interfaces where nodes are attached
« on: March 06, 2013, 01:01:12 PM »
Hi,

I installed nedi-027 and it seems that I have a problem with the interfaces where nodes are attached. I see nodes only attached to the VLANs on the routers, but no nodes has an interface on a switch. We have nodes connected to a interface directly and to port-channels also. But nothing is discovered.

Perhaps this problem is Cisco Nexus related.

Any idea how to check / debug further?

Thanks.

Michael Schwartzkopff.

I tried to change

getfwd from "dyn" to "sec" but this does not help.

Uhm, I still have some Nexs (pl, tx Paolo) problems and it's likely this is related. What exact boxes and what SW?

hi on the nexus the "show port-security adress" command dosent work, maybe you need to discover with snmp

Change in your nedi.conf to "getfwd snmp"

I finally got my hands on a couple of Nexs and figured out why the forwarding tables don't work with SNMP! A new option VXP (like VLX but no community indexing on the bridgeport to ifindex mapping) does the trick!

I'm hoping to complete all this Nexus busines on Wednesday!

You mean patch? I'm gonna send out a (hopefully) final RC to NeDi's sponsors this weekend. If all goes well I'll release end of next week...
