Rickli,
I using gammu since some years now. It works fine, especially the option
to use mysql as a messages store to queue the messages I like.
I use it for Zabbix network monitoring.
In the company I have a Siemens MC35i terminal, that works fine and stable.
I tested some other phones, they were not stable.

I just achieved a milestone in NeDi's SSH support. Further development is going to keep me busy for a while, so I hope the community will help those, who experience problems with the current version. Check out this thread for development progress. I'll also put up some news on the homepage now and then...
- nosnmpdev now honours border (to avoid phones showing up as devices). Added support for Aastra phones.
- SNMP support for Alcatel switches confirmed. CLI support under investigation.
- Config backup for ProCurve switches working now
- New CLI library supports Enterasys and Extreme devices. Much better SSH using io::pty and openssh.
- Fixed bug for TopRRDs http://forum.nedi.ch/index.php?topic=618.msg2747#msg2747
- Optimized monitoring (e.g. no bursty polls anymore)
- Experimented with gammu and a mobile phone for sending SMSs. Looking good so far!
- Tables can be optimized from Other-Export now. This is handy when NeDi slows down with large tables (I'd still keep messages under a million, though)
