cannot discover
« on: September 09, 2009, 06:12:42 AM »
I'ved currently installed Nedi to the same server with Groundwork since I needed to monitor the network ports. The seedlist file has already been modified to see the network's IP block. Upon starting the discovery using ./nedi.pl,  I get 1 IP with the message "no name, not discoverable" message no matter what parameter I add. The equipments that I needed are already discovered in Groundwork, how come Nedi doesn't see them?

Are you using a paid version of Groundwork?  If so, they would be the best to ask this question.  I have not used Groundwork.

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply

actually the main point here is that both applications are installed on both servers, since Groundwork has discovered the devices, how come Nedi could not?

Depend on how Groundwork discovers the devices. If NeDi says "No name, not discoverable", I would guess SNMP is not enabled on the devices in question.
