Question about Interface Reports
« on: May 08, 2009, 04:17:51 AM »
Was wondering how Nedi "counts" the population on a switch - that is I was clicking around the Full/Empty Device report and noticed a switch reporting 90% but I knew it was only around 40-50 percent

Even the node report only shows 38 devices over 81 interfaces - Is this an issue with stacked switches?

Was wondering if I could do to correct this as I do like this report

thanks

It counts the ports, where incoming traffic has been detected. This is more persistent than just rely on the actual forwarding table. As to stacks it depends on how they're organized. What type do you have and does it show up as a single device with the members organized as modules (having lots of interfaces)?
