ONLY CDP/LLDP OR DIRECTED CONNECTED DEVICES
« on: March 10, 2020, 09:51:54 am »
Hello,

This is my very first post on the forum  ;)

I am currently testing the nedi software, in particular the network discovery function.

My problem is that only finds Cisco neighbors or devices directly connected to my switch.

My arp table has about ten lines, I see them in the logs during the discoveries but they do not appear in the nodes or devices list...

SNMP is only configured on my switch.

Has anyone ever encountered this issue ?

(OS: Centos 7, Nedi: 1.8C)

Welcome to the forum :)

ARP is layer 2.5 (or so). Then nodes require layer 2 entries from the MAC address tables of switches. There will be improvements in upcoming versions (1.9 will be public soon) to let you look at ARP entries in Nodes-Toolbox (enter a network in CIDR notation and click Information)
