Dell N2048, N2024 and Force10 S55
« on: October 02, 2015, 11:14:42 AM »
Hi,

I have new defs for Dell N2048 and N2024 and Force10 S55. See attached zips.

You also have to patch inc/libcli.pm and add

# Dell N2024, N2048
$cmd{'DN2'}{'ropr'} = '[\w+().-]+>$';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'enpr'} = '[\w+().-]+#$';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'enab'} = 'enable';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'arp'}  = 'show mac address-table';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'conf'} = 'show running-config';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'strt'} = '!Current Configuration';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'page'} = 'terminal length 0';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'more'} = '--More-- or (q)uit';

Best regards

Tx, can you check whether the 'more' variable is really necessary? It shouldn't if 'page' works correctly...
I've only added 'arp' for ASAs, which don't support SNMP, so this shouldn't really be necessary.

This looks like the entries for 'DPCN' now (added in NeDi 1.5). If that indeed works with those models as well, I'd prefer sticking to 'DCPN' and just add config-start '!Current Configuration' instead...

I've tested it.

# Dell N2024, N2048
$cmd{'DN2'}{'ropr'} = '[\w+().-]+>$';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'enpr'} = '[\w+().-]+#$';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'enab'} = 'enable';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'conf'} = 'show running-config';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'strt'} = '!Current Configuration';
$cmd{'DN2'}{'page'} = 'terminal length 0';

is working too. (running NediO14)

tx.

I have five N2048P stacks as edge switches, and was very excited to see this .def... Unfortunately, I don't seem to have them set up correctly.
The OIDs appear in the Definitions list
N2048                         1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3054
N2048                         1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3055

The switches appear in Devices / List, and many properties show (Services, Description including O/S version, IP address, SNMP properties such as Location and Contact... etc)
I can even see "Access Ports Free" BUT I cannot see any client MAC, IP, DNS name, or other information about clients on access ports.

I FTP'd the .def files to /var/nedi/sysobj and I added the libcli.pm lines (second example, without the {mode} declaration.)

Any thoughts? I would like to use NeDi for a massive auditing project I have going on right now, and it's working great for my Cisco gear. I'd love to see the same detail in Nodes/List on the dell Access ports as I do on the Cisco.

The Dells I've encountered so far left a good impression, thus I think you should be able to do this with NeDi. Please watch the Defgen tutorial on youtube.

If you have a budget for consulting, I can help you personally, just send me a mail...

The OID is 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.3056 (existing OIDs from the top of this thread are .3054 and .3055...)
The N2048s I have are all PoE, firmware 6.1.2.4.
I have used the .3055 as a template for .3056 and some more charasterics are being read successfully (serial number, number of stack members, and some others.)

I hope to spend more time on it this weekend. If I wind up with a substantially more functional .def I will of course share it.

I'll certainly include the .defs, if they're post them here or emailed to me (just click on the mail icon in Defgen).

Many thanks!
