Howto Omit VLAN Indexing on SNMPv3 Devices
« on: September 09, 2015, 09:34:01 AM »
Hallo,

we have a bunch of SNMPv3 Devices from Cisco.
I noticed that during discovery, nedi tries to do VLAN-Indexing (community@vlan) on this devices.
So how can I disable this behavior, because VLAN-Indexing does not work at all with v3, but slows down
discovery speed dramatically.

Thanks in advance

You can enable CLI access or use skippol <type> F in nedi.conf for the device types in question to skip over mac-address tables...
Please consider Other-Invoices on your NeDi installation for an annual contribution, tx!

Hallo Remo,

sorry for the late reply.
But thank you very much for your answer.

Only a suggestion. Maybe it is possible for a futer release of NeDi to have a branch like "if SNMPv3 then skip VLAN-Indexing"
Thank you very much for your great work at all  :)
