Nedi-321 no VLAN table No Slots
« on: December 12, 2013, 03:28:21 PM »
Hi,
if upgraded from nedi-1.0.8 to the 321 RC.
For now i get no VLAN Database and the section where the Slots, e.g Chassis Based Switch, are list is empty.
Same definition Files as the version before where all the Infos where shown.

This only matters on Switches from Allied Telesys with OS Alliedware+.

ugh, ok can you check (with a sniffer) whether the switch even responds to NeDi's SNMP queries? I did optimize some queries, maybe AT doesn't like...

Ok, what i could see is something like that:
09:43:11.353341 IP core.xxxx.net.snmp > nedi.xxxx.net.36162:  C=co GetResponse(616)  17.7.1.4.3.1.1.1="default" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.100="vlan2" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.104="vlan3" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.110="vlan4" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.111="vlan5" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.112="vlan6" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.114="vlan7" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.115="vlan8" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.117="vlan9" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.119="vlan10" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.120="vlan11" 17.7.1.4.3.1.1.122="vlan12"

If this is the right Place where the VLANs get fetched it looks good. But the VLANs never comes into the Database. This is only with Swichtes from Allied Telesys with Alliedware+ e.g. x908 Switchblade.
Allied Telesys Switches Series 8000S and 8000GS are working. The Result of the snmp is same like you see above.

PVID for the Switchports are shown correct.

At Defgen i set "Q-bridge / IF Indexed". No special OID for "Vlid Index" This works before i upgraded to the new Nedi Version.

Ok.....it seems there is a limitation of the SNMP Answers Message Size:
SNMP:Connect 192.168.xx.xxx c v2 Tout:2s MaxMS:1472
ERR :Vlans, Message size exceeded buffer maxMsgSize

I could not find the place where to set this MessageSize.
For quick and dirty i set the Value inside the inc/libsnmp.pl script.

Is there a possibility to set this in nedi.conf?

Could you trace an snmpbulkwalk on this OID and look at the maxrep number in the request? I started limiting that (see Interfaces() for example) rather than maxmesg...

Found similar behavior on a HP "newday" wireless controller. I upped maxmesg to 2048 for now...
