CLI Login error
« on: February 15, 2013, 11:43:01 AM »
Hi NeDi Users and Developers,

Today i was looking at nedi and we have discovered 2646 new nodes, 3 new devices and saw 4267 up, 3079 down and 374 disabled ethernet ports within the last 7 days.
However... Sometimes nedi.pl doesn't login with the username/password provided. It says: No working user found when i tail the log.. But when i manually login it works fine.

Also, some mac addresses are not being discovered and saved.. When we try to find an node. It doesn't work!
Could someone please help me with this.. Im using Cisco Devices.

Im considering to change back to 1.0.7.

Thanks,

Mikey

Ok, here some question for you:

By sometimes you mean it worked before?

Do you have "usr" entries in nedi.conf?

Does the MAC address which is not found show up in the -v output anywhere?

Are all those Cisco devices showing a blue icon?

Did all this work in 1.0.7?

To reply on this backup config issue.

No, we have always had a couple of devices that weren't backuped, but most of them are backuped correctly. The "usr" credentials are working when I login manually from the nedi server to the particular cisco switch or router. I have devices that are almost with the same IOS and almost with the same config. Where one backups without any problem while the other always reports "no working user".

Anything else we can test or check?

We also added the IP address in the seedlist file, no change.

Thread can be closed..
Its fixed.

It was the def file... We use an Cisco Catalyst 7600.. An that def file didn't exists.
So what i did was copy from another cisco router to that def file

"cp 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.282.def 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.863.def"

Did you watch the Defgen tutorial? You could have clicked on the geo-triangle in Devices-Status. Then adjust type, icon if needed and any other OIDs wich wouldn't work. Finally click write and you're done :)
