« on: August 24, 2011, 11:00:12 AM »
Hi,

i have some Problems with my Cisco 2960 and 2960G Swicthe.

Nedi dont show me "Duplex" when the Interface is set to "auto"
See Port 5

see Picture.

and here "sh int status" on this switch. Port 5 is set to AUTO
Code: [Select]
Port      Name               Status       Vlan       Duplex  Speed Type
Fa0/1     SL-5114            connected    26           full    100 10/100BaseTX
Fa0/2     SL-4155            connected    26           full    100 10/100BaseTX
Fa0/3     FE-24062           notconnect   26           full    100 10/100BaseTX
Fa0/4     SL-3287            connected    26           full    100 10/100BaseTX
Fa0/5     SL-3944            connected    26         a-full  a-100 10/100BaseTX

Maybe Cisco changed the MIBs? I can't find out myself, since I don't have access to those devices these days...
Please consider Other-Invoices on your NeDi installation for an annual contribution, tx!

I've been though a bunch of my switches, and have noticed this also.
The return values for some of the gear is now 2/3 for full/half duplex and 1 for unknown (down interfaces)
If your def is setup for 2 and 3 then 1 is unknown and shows up as a ? in the GUI.

from snmpwalk of 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.7.2.1.19
Code: [Select]
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10006 = INTEGER: fullDuplex(3)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10007 = INTEGER: unknown(1)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10008 = INTEGER: unknown(1)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10009 = INTEGER: unknown(1)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10010 = INTEGER: halfDuplex(2)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10011 = INTEGER: fullDuplex(3)

Hello Eviltrooper,

You may compare the results of "show int status" and "snmpwalk of 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.7.2.1.19"

If they are inconsistent, you probably hit a bug. Try to get it documented in Cisco TAC.

i solved the Problem ^^

we just at the moment deploy new Firwmare on your Switches (c2960-lanbasek9-tar.122-58.SE2)
an with this Firmware Nedi shows the Duplex Settings korrekt.
now he only hast 3 states

when port is not connected(snmp = 4 )
snmp 1 = when its half duplex
snmp 2 = when ist full

the same when it is auto-Full

on the older fireware he has snmp 3 when ist was auto-full
