HP Procurve Stacks
« on: March 19, 2012, 03:48:58 PM »
Hi,
Newbie question: What should I do to properly discover Procurve Stackes (ie Multiple Switches grouped under one IP)?

Thanks
HP.

You mean 3800? The have their own sysobjid if stacked...which should be in there already. I'm pondering how to display stacked devices, though. I lean towards an additional OID in the .def, but I'd like to find one, which gives away useful information across all vendors and models....yes lotta wishful thinking!

Negative, I am thinking at first hand of 2600s and 2610s.
I have serveral places where a standard and a -PoE Model are stacked due to IP Range limitations.

At one place, I have a 4204vl (Star point) and eight 2600-8-PWR around it

Thanks, Remo!
HP.

Ah ok, clustering (I know those models are called stackables, but they really aren't). Sorry always tried to avoid this  :) Do you see the member switches as modules?

Nope, they aren't visible but as Neighbours.

Probably I'm doing something wrong with the discovery, because they aren't recognized as nodes either...

best,
HP.

Ah ok, but their interfaces don't show up on the 4204? Maybe there's a mib displaying more info, but those kind of issues are why I don't recommend this feature...

Oops.
I only checked the 26x0 so far. Let me have a look on the 4204.
