Discovery / Re: Problem getting correct PoE Infos of Cisco Switches
« on: April 24, 2018, 09:47:24 PM »
I agree,  OID ending with 7 will give allocated power,   9 will give actual consumption..    I really dont know what one to use
If you want to be on safe side you might want to use 7,   if you want to actual usage,,  well then 9 is best

We might ask for some development/enhancement here.   Maybe Nedi should report both usage and Allocated

   Use    Alloc
 6500/15400

Nowadays   we only use POE switches and so does our customers so I think having knowledge of POE usage and allocated is something that is needed

I got it work now, but i had to change OID.
This OID  1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.402.1.2.1.9 give me wrong values, to low  (check with 'show power inline' )

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.402.1.2.1.7 gives me same values as 'show power inline' command

I still have problem with POE on this switch model

what IOS version are you on,, I have c3560cx-universalk9-mz.152-4.E2.bin

My nedi.conf
# Set policy how poe delivery should be tracked per device type,
# or default for all (comment to ignore PoE completely):
# disprot       use the discovery protocol
# ifmib         get real value from the interfaces
# usepoe                default disprot
ifmib

and I am using this OID for POE in combination with IF-Name2index
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.402.1.2.1.9

I am using 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.4.1.1.11 for poe index

With  Cisco Mobility Express you can use a Cisco 1800/2800/3800 AP as controller.  This is really neat, you dont need a WLC anymore.   You will not get all functions a WLC have but the most common is implemented in  "Mobility Express".    For handling in Nedi I have just copied the def-file for Cisco 5508 controller and that seems to be okey

cp 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1069.def  1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.2370.def  (2802 AP)
cp 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1069.def  1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.2371.def  (1832 AP)

Yes CDP is enabled om both sides,  in fact I have older APs in the same switcher and controllers they show up as they should.
If I look into the Link table,  all other APs but 1800/2800 is registered there.
If look in the switch and run "sh cdp neighb"   the all APs show up

When I look at the connected switch the APs will show up as cdp neighbors..   Its only in AP-view its something wrong

I attached a file showing this from the switch-view

Nedi 1.6

We have installed some new controllerbased Cisco APs, 1800-2800 series.  Nedi does not seem to handle these APs correctly.
If look at the AP-view, Nedi does not display the "Connection" value (what switch and interface the AP is connected to).
but in "Maps" in the same view I can see the CDP value.

For all older APs this works.  I have attached a screenshot to this message so you can see for yourself.

Hi
the first row I find in libcli.pm start with  this:

 ($pre, $match) = $session->waitfor("/are you sure|offending key|modulus too small|connection refused|ssh_exchange_identification|any key|Ctrl-Y|$misc::uselogin|password\\s?:

is it that one ?,  and should replace the whole row with }elsif($match =~ /any key|Ctrl-Y| to or <CR>:/i){

the second row I found was this one:
}elsif($match =~ /any key|Ctrl-Y/i){

Installation / Missing in backup after upgrade to 1.5c
« on: December 22, 2016, 01:45:12 AM »
In older versions we always got info about who did a change in config
"NVRAM config last updated at 13:04:39 se Fri Oct 21 2016 by xxxxx"

I have upgraded to 1.5c and now this info is missing,  I can see what have been done but userinfo is missing !
Is this a bug ?

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.220.1.1.1.2, if you get 4(four) as returnvalue then Dot.1x is enabled on that port

Database / Re: Changed from MyISAM to InnoDB
« on: June 01, 2016, 05:30:05 PM »
It was pretty easy, I just followed one of several instructions I found on the net
basically only one command per table

Before you alter the tables,  stop all jobs that connected to database

then:
ALTER TABLE tablename ENGINE=InnoDB;

When you are done with all tables you should edit "my.cnf" with InnoDB parameters that is adjusted for you hardware
You might have "fiddle" around with the different InnoDB parameters,  some of them made my installation unusable but when taking them out it works again

I ended up with just these two rows
innodb_thread_concurrency=8
innodb_buffer_pool_size=2G

then you have to restart mysql engine,

News / Beta NeDi 1.1.155
« on: August 21, 2014, 04:02:54 PM »
I have found a thing that I cant resolve,

In monitor-health,   I get Latency warnings even if I specified a high value in nedi.conf
eg "latency-warn    500".  so even if I have 500 in nedi.conf I get warnings for all objects that have a latency over 100ms

Nope,, if we both mean that "type"  is the exact model of equipment,, 2960-24TT-L, WS-C2960X-48LPD-L, 3750-24TS-24 and so on
