Discovery / Roting Table changes monitoring

is there any method in NeDi, create an alert or warning when routing table is changed?

For example i have 5 BGP and 10 static routes on my routers.
My ISP sometimes have problems on its BGP routes and then it send me wrong BGP routes
or junior network admin make wrong configuration and routes are changed.

So my clients and servers cannot reach some ip address.

i want to notice this misconfiguration and problems immediately.

Discovery / Re: snmpv3 problem

When i look at the nedi db all devices match with snmp v2 so whatever i done in nedi.conf db entry overrides snmpv3 definition.

i remove all devices from db and then run nedi.pl from command line.

All devices now snmpv3 : )

There may be better and elegant solution.

Discovery / snmpv3 problem

last week i changed whole my network to snmpv3.
and i only use snmpv3 on my switches.

Then i configure nedi.conf for snmpv3 something like this.

Code: [Select]
comm    denop   sha     11223344        des     55667788
and when i start nedi.pl from command line i recognize nedi.pl still use snmpv2 and because of the restiriction cannot access switches

Code: [Select]
SNMP:Connect denop v2 Tout:7s MaxMS:2048
any ideas?

Discovery / NeDi shows only switch port own mac address
« on: March 03, 2010, 03:45:20 PM »

i have been using NeDi not so long.

i used NeDi s earlier version and when i search any mac address Nedi shows the exact switch port.

but now, when i search any mac address Nedi only shows the Backbone switch's uplink port where we connected switch that nodes connected.

And also when i open Nedi Devices > Status > switch and want to see switches status information. under the interfaces section, address column only shows switches own port mac address not nodes mac address. i thing this situation caues the problem.

is there any idea.

Not: i installed the nedis 1.05 version on Ubuntu and i add the lines below to crontab

0,30 * * * *    root    /var/nedi/nedi.pl -o > /tmp/nedi.lastrun 2>&1

i have HP 2524, 4104, 4208, 3508, 9304, Cisco 6509, Enterasys B2, N3 and N7.
