GUI / Devices-Translator
« on: March 12, 2019, 05:48:28 PM »
Hi,

what is the icon in the "Device Status--Configuration--Devices-Translator" for in NeDi1.7C?
I get an http 404 Not Found error by clicking on.
On the other hand, I miss "view log" that was on that position in former releases.

GUI / CLI Send
« on: December 18, 2018, 11:57:45 AM »
Hi,

I just installed NeDi 1.7C.
If I create an CLI file in "System File Edit", I expected that it appears at "Device Status" in the drop down box of the CLI line for executing on this device.
But it doesn't.  :(
Did I missed something here?

GUI / Parallelize Device Write
« on: May 27, 2014, 01:57:00 PM »
Hi,

due to a network redesign I have to reconfigure a big amount of switches. So I noticed that
"Device Write" seems to do this one by one. This takes a long time. It wold be helpful if you can configure
the number of threats that should run in parallel. Maybe as a drop down box or, easier to implement I think, in nedi.conf.

Is this planed for one of the next versions?

Discovery / 1oh9 problem with 6500
« on: January 20, 2014, 05:36:40 PM »
Hi,

I faced a problem discovering C6509 with NeDi 1oh9 RC and final release.
It cant find any neighbors anymore. I fixed this by increasing maxmessagesize in libsnmp.pm.
(Found it somewhere else in the forum)
The new line looks like this:
        $maxms = ($maxms)? $maxms:4096;

Do this have any other impact? If not, it should be the default I think.

Discovery / Looking for error disabled ports
« on: December 20, 2013, 10:18:01 AM »
Hi,

I'm looking for an option to get a list of all error disabled ports in my network.
It seems to me that it can't be done with SNMP (Cisco devices).
Has anyone a solution?
Maybe a CLI that retrieves a "sh int statu" as a file from all devices discovered by NeDi.

Discovery / Timeout at non discoverable dev's is too long
« on: April 19, 2011, 04:56:37 PM »
Hi,

I just noticed that the discovery takes longer now, and I see the following lines in the log:
Code: [Select]
10.16.140.58    No response from b02bhl063, not discoverable             313/87-128s
The device is an LWAPP AP without SNMP. But I don't want to filter out all AP's,
because the newer ones are SNMP capable.
Can I tune the SNMP timeout somewhere?
I think 2 minutes are too much, 30 seconds or so would do  ;).

Definition Files / Problem with detecting Duplex mode with some Ciscos
« on: February 16, 2010, 11:46:08 AM »
Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or if Discovery would fit better.

I just had an issue with inconsistent duplex settings between server and switch.
Hence I wonder if I can't use NeDi for detecting more of these beside looking for increasing errors on interfaces.
So I looked around a little bit and fond the following:
The OID used by NeDi for newer Ciscos for determine the duplex settings is:
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.4.1.1.10
It returns the setting of the interface (1=HD, 2=FD, 4=Auto or ? in NeDi) but not the actual value.
The OID from the standard dot3 MIB
1.3.6.1.2.1.10.7.2.1.19
returns the actual duplex value even if the port is in Auto mode.
But if I put this into the def file, the database row isn't populated.
Maybe it is because of the output of the snmpwalk
Code: [Select]
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10001 = INTEGER: unknown(1)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10002 = INTEGER: fullDuplex(3)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10003 = INTEGER: fullDuplex(3)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10004 = INTEGER: unknown(1)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10005 = INTEGER: unknown(1)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10006 = INTEGER: fullDuplex(3)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10007 = INTEGER: fullDuplex(3)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10008 = INTEGER: fullDuplex(3)
EtherLike-MIB::dot3StatsDuplexStatus.10009 = INTEGER: unknown(1)
The value after "INTEGER:" doesn't look like real integer at all  ;)

Any ideas?

GUI / Bug in Node List
« on: January 25, 2010, 10:42:20 AM »
Hi,

I noticed that there is a little bug in 1oh5 displaying the Node List.
The column IF Name isn't displayed, even if it is highlighted.
That isn't a huge problem, because the If Name is also displayed in the Device column behind the device name.
But unfortunately, the sorting isn't working underneath one device. It seems that interface name isn't included in the sorting algorithm.
So, displaying the IF Name as a separate column (like expected) would solve the issue.

Installation / Upgrading to 1oh5
« on: January 11, 2010, 11:59:28 AM »
Now, after 1oh5 final is out, I wonder if there are some database changes.
Or can I update just by copying the new version into the existing directory?
Especially I want to keep the users.
