Other / Netbios name or service.
« on: December 06, 2013, 02:46:02 AM »
Hi Remo,
In Node-list I have never seen my netbios name for  nodes. What would be the settings to get those names populated in to the databse?

General Topics / CSV file data extract.
« on: November 27, 2013, 12:58:58 AM »
HI,
Can some one please help me in wrinting  code, for extracting data from follwoing CSV file structure? may be in perl or AWK or any other scripting tool.

The file structure is like,
in a single record 1 to 16 comma seperated filelds are site related information,  from 16, 69 comma seperated values are data and those are in multipule columns to up to end of record. may be 30 to 40 times in to 69 fields.

I could extracet 1 to 16 fields in one line but could not establish any logic for extracting subsequent data of fix column(69) in each new row for multipule time up to the end of each record.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

News / NeDi 1.0.9 Beta test
« on: September 02, 2013, 01:27:36 AM »
Hi Remo,
I had working NEDI server I uploaded the beta version and had this error.

PTY :Loaded
PERL:LWP::UserAgent loaded
install_driver(MSQ) failed: Can't locate DBD/MSQ.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/libdata/perl5/site_perl/i386-openbsd /usr/libdata/perl5/site_perl/i386-openbsd /usr/local/libdata/perl5/site_perl /usr/libdata/perl5/site_perl /usr/libdata/perl5/i386-openbsd/5.12.2 /usr/local/libdata/perl5/i386-openbsd/5.12.2 /usr/libdata/perl5 /usr/local/libdata/perl5 .) at (eval 31) line 3. Perhaps the DBD::MSQ perl module hasn't been fully installed, or perhaps the capitalisation of 'MSQ' isn't right. Available drivers: DBM, ExampleP, File, Gofer, Proxy, Sponge, mysql. at /var/nedi/inc/libdb.pm line 36

Any help...? I tried to google this error and it has different solutions for installing a perl module or changing the script for Mysql to mysql.

Harry

Discovery / Nedi-027 RC issue.
« on: January 30, 2013, 10:58:45 PM »
HI All,

I installed  this RC yesterday I have encountered these following issues.

1. Monitoring page Graphs are not showing anything only blank grid canvas.
2.Phones are not appearing in device list.
3. Backup - in Nedi.conf this field is commented so it should try telent and ssh. It is only trying ssh and not telent. so backup fials in case of the devices are only set for telnet.

some query..
1.what is flower or floodlight manager?

wishlist.
1. all aruba Accesspoint can appear as module to the controller. where they are connected, insted of having them listed as seperate device. A hyperlink can be provided for detailed drilling of data for AP.

I have installed new nedi and done Nedi -I to delete my old RRD's. I hope I have not missed any step of installation or config.

when you clik a send button it actully sends only the <your command > .

Definition Files / Cisco 3750 POE OID
« on: October 14, 2011, 06:11:01 AM »
HI All/Remo
I have Cisco 3750's. I have 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.402.1.2.1.7 in IF Power. it works fine with standard Image, but with Enhanced image. it is not showing me any POE usage.

can anyone help me on this...?I am running 1.0.7.

A request to Remo. On “Device Status" page in "Interfaces" section, can we have OUI, Mac and IP of Nodes? This can be in multiple lines depending on the case.  This will help to visualise the whole switch with all the nodes connected to that particular switch.
I would like to hear from community as well about my suggestion.

Regards,
Harry.

Database / Help needed.
« on: June 24, 2011, 07:41:38 AM »
Hi All/Remo,

As requested earlier if Nedi can support Aruba Network device or not. I got the answer.

I am not a developer but tried something with SNMPwalk PHP script.

I have the DEF files. this device are in DEVICES table and are being monitored.

I want to use my script with NEDI.

can some one Please help me in writing a module which will list all devices
 where type = Aruba.
and If I select one,
it will pass on the IP and Community string
to my SNMP walk PHP script. or I can call that in to the script?

ready to share the DEF and SNMPwalk.php for Aruba Device.

Hello Everyone,
I am very impressed with NEDI. I am running 1.05 and I have also installed 1.06 on different machine for evaluation.
This whole network scan takes around 60 to 70 min. I am happy with that. As this includes each and every nodes in my network(s).
I will be removing 1.05 when this 1.06 will become stable version.

Harry

A very big thanks to Remo and other developers.
