GUI / Devices-Translator
« on: March 12, 2019, 05:48:28 PM »
Hi,

what is the icon in the "Device Status--Configuration--Devices-Translator" for in NeDi1.7C?
I get an http 404 Not Found error by clicking on.
On the other hand, I miss "view log" that was on that position in former releases.

GUI / CLI Send
« on: December 18, 2018, 11:57:45 AM »
Hi,

I just installed NeDi 1.7C.
If I create an CLI file in "System File Edit", I expected that it appears at "Device Status" in the drop down box of the CLI line for executing on this device.
But it doesn't.  :(
Did I missed something here?

GUI / Parallelize Device Write
« on: May 27, 2014, 01:57:00 PM »
Hi,

due to a network redesign I have to reconfigure a big amount of switches. So I noticed that
"Device Write" seems to do this one by one. This takes a long time. It wold be helpful if you can configure
the number of threats that should run in parallel. Maybe as a drop down box or, easier to implement I think, in nedi.conf.

Is this planed for one of the next versions?

Discovery / 1oh9 problem with 6500
« on: January 20, 2014, 05:36:40 PM »
Hi,

I faced a problem discovering C6509 with NeDi 1oh9 RC and final release.
It cant find any neighbors anymore. I fixed this by increasing maxmessagesize in libsnmp.pm.
(Found it somewhere else in the forum)
The new line looks like this:
        $maxms = ($maxms)? $maxms:4096;

Do this have any other impact? If not, it should be the default I think.

Discovery / Looking for error disabled ports
« on: December 20, 2013, 10:18:01 AM »
Hi,

I'm looking for an option to get a list of all error disabled ports in my network.
It seems to me that it can't be done with SNMP (Cisco devices).
Has anyone a solution?
Maybe a CLI that retrieves a "sh int statu" as a file from all devices discovered by NeDi.

Hi,

tried to install 103!

I noticed that there are two new fields in the devices table called "maxpoe" and "totpoe" of type SMALLINT.
Are there any other changes that I have to add in order to go on with the existing database?

Hi Remo,

in another thread you wrote:
Yes leave it off, the master daemon collects alerts from nedi agents, but it's not officially documented yet. Will need to do some testing...

How is the road-map here? Will the master service only collect alerts or also device and node data from "NeDi-probes"
in other networks?
I'm very interested in a distributed NeDi setup, because we think about implementing it globally.
So I wold be very pleased about a short docu and your thoughts about pushing NeDi to "enterprise-grade".

Hi Remo,

I'm fine with the requested power and not the realy used one, because I'm quite sure that the switches
uses this for calculating the maximum power before not providing an additional port with power. This is especially
interesting on switches with no "full power" power supplies.
I think the real used power is only for academic interest. I hope no one is crazy enough to charge this in detail  ;)

I attach the index....

Hi,

this data is out of that result window when I do a test walk over "IF Power" in the definition generator.
The device is a stack of three 3750X, but only switch 2 and 3 are PoE devices.
I hope this is the info you ask for    :)

I use this combination (no .1 at the end):

IFpowr  1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.402.1.2.1.7
IFpwix  1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.4.1.1.11

in WS-C3750. This can walk over the stack.
