Database / Re: SQL syntax error during discovery - NeDiO8
« on: November 14, 2013, 08:40:17 AM »
Could you please explain how to correct this in my system? I'd love to upgrade to oh9 but unfortunately I don't have the time right now...

Regarding the AP, I don't really know, as I don't manage this network directly (yet). NeDi is my main tool for getting to know this network, and with this error the discovery stops.

Thanks for your help,

Natalia

Database / SQL syntax error during discovery - NeDiO8
« on: November 13, 2013, 03:09:20 PM »
Hi,

I've been using NeDiO8 for a while now, and I have recently scheduled the following nedi run: /var/nedi/nedi.pl -vpN -A 'device regexp "^(F|H)|BET"'.

What I intend to do is to run nedi only for a subset of the existing devices in NeDi database. Everything is fine when it comes to connecting to the devices that already exist in the database. But when NeDi tries to connect to a newly discovered device (an AP in this particular case) I get the following error:

EVNT:CL=nedn EL=1 TGT=AP-xxxx MSG=No response from IP x.x.x.x using -A device regexp "^(F|H)|BET"
DBD::mysql::db do failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"","nedn","")' at line 1 at /var/nedi/inc/libdb-msq.pm line 1127.
DBD::mysql::db do failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"","nedn","")' at line 1 at /var/nedi/inc/libdb-msq.pm line 1127.

On the other hand, if I try to add that device manually I get the following:

ERR :No response from remote host "x.x.x.x"
EVNT:CL=nedn EL=1 TGT=x.x.x.x MSG=No response from IP x.x.x.x using -a x.x.x.x
DISC:ToDo/Done-Time                        0/0-13s
===============================================================================
Nothing discovered, nothing written...
END :Took 0 minutes

It's normal that NeDi cannot connect to the AP, as the proper credentials are not configured in NeDi, but I guess that syntax error shouldn't be there... Could you please help me figure out what's wrong?

Thanks for your help,

Natalia

Database / db problem
« on: June 17, 2013, 09:50:56 AM »
Hi,

I'm using NeDiO8.
When I try to log in to NeDi I get the following error: Could not connect to nedi@localhost with nedi

I got this error before, and I solved it by restarting the server, but this time I've tried to see what may be causing it. It seems a database problem, because when I issue db command through console I don't get any answer.
I've tried to restart the db with this command:
mysqladmin -u root -p shutdown

but after I enter the password it gets stuck too.

Could anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,

Natalia

Hi,

It works perfectly!

Thank you,

Natalia

Yes, it does stop, but the thread remains there, so active threads keep increasing after each discovery cycle.

Thanks,

Natalia

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply and congratulations for this great tool!

Yes, I intended to filter devices for this user by VTP domain. I manage several sites so what I intended to do is give visibility to local users in each site only to their devices. In fact, this was my second try as with the first one (filtering by device name using a regexp) I encountered the same error.

Indeed, after applying the filter I checked the user was seeing the devices I expected, and everything looked fine... In fact the device that appears in the error message is one of those devices the user shouldn't be able to see (so it's normal that the query "CBIOCPDA1" AND devgroup regexp "BURBSHP"  returns nothing)

Regards,

Natalia

Hello,

I recently install NeDiO8, and everything was working fine until I created a user account and applied a device filter to it (Group=BURBSHP).

After that, each time an "out-discards" event is detected during nedi discovery, I get the following error:

EVNT:CL=nedl EL=3 TGT=CBIOCPDA1 MSG=Gi7/39 (is  CDP:CBIOCPDA2,Gi0/47)  has 1090728952 out-discards
DBD::mysql::db selectall_hashref failed: Handle is not in asynchronous mode [err was 2000 now 2000000000]
Field 'device' does not exist (not one of device="CBIOCPDA1" AND devgroup regexp "BURBSHP") at /var/nedi/inc/libdb-msq.pm line 1208.

I'm a complete newbie, so I may be misunderstanding something, but it looks like the problem is it's applying the group filter (the one I used for the user account) when trying to locate the device in the DB (CBIOCDPA1 in this case), and of course it doesn't find it as this device is in BIOBSHP group.

Any help would be highly appreciated

Thanks in advance,

Natalia
