Hello,

sometimes at different sites are different CDP groups with the same Vlan IDs (CDP01 (Group):Vlan 400 (Vlan Index):Test (Vlan Name) , CDP01:Vlan 400:Test). Is it possible at NeDi 1.4p6 Nedi-Device->Vlans to bring the CDP Group and Vlan Index/Vlan Name together for better differentiation or is this view at NeDi 1.5 available?

Management / Define SNMP v3 context name at Nedi 1.4p5
« on: February 04, 2016, 06:37:00 AM »
Hello,

with the snmpcmd's SNMP v3 with the parameter "-n CONTEXT set context name (e.g. VF:x)" it is possible to read out the OIDs for a virtual Brocade Fibre Channel Switch (FCOS 7.4). Is it possible with Nedi 1.4p5 to set this context name too?

Discovery / Re: Forcing a specific SNMP version for discovery
« on: July 31, 2015, 02:02:46 PM »
Hello Jacobi,

with NeDi V1.43 GUI System->Export you can change the database records for one device or many devices.

snmpversion=130  means SNMPv2

     update devices set readcomm="<communitystring>", snmpversion=130 where device = "<device>";

Be careful, you manipulate the NeDi database records.

Hello Jacobi,

with NeDi V1.43 you can try <nedipath>/nedi.pl -C <communitystring> -v -a <ip>

<nedipath>/nedi.pl -h
...
-C cmty   Prefer this community over those in nedi.conf and DB

Hello NeDi Community,

I have some problems after installing NeDi 1.43 and the patch 1.43p3 at Debian/Linux 7 from scratch.

there are gaps at the top.rrd graphs. The hourly scan is ready after ca. 30 Mins without any errors. The device and port graphs have no gaps. How to debug this behavior?

"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near line 1 ) at line 1
if I click the Monitor Add icon at Device Status for the Cisco office, access and core switches . The icon change to a red cross. For some Cisco Access Points it works. Any ideas?

Hello,

yesterday I installed NeDi 1.09 beta and I see following message at adding my first device. CfgChg and CfgWrt at sysobj/1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.542.def are defined. Second run with nedi.pl -A "inet_ntoa(devip) regexp '^172.16.x.x'" is ok.

Code: [Select]
$/var/nedi-1.09/nedi.pl -i
...
# First run with message
$/var/nedi-1.09/nedi.pl -a <device>
172.16.x.x    <device>      Use of uninitialized value in string ne at /var/nedi-1.09/inc/libsnmp.pm line 534.
...
END :Took 0 minutes

# Second run without message
$/var/nedi-1.09/nedi.pl -A "inet_ntoa(devip) regexp '^172.16.x.x'"
...
END :Took 0 minutes

Any hints?

Discovery / VRF at IOS 12.2(33)SXJ and NeDi 1.08 with SNMPv3
« on: July 22, 2013, 11:04:56 AM »
Hello,

NeDi Discovery and snmpwalk returned following information:

ERR :cIpAddressTable The requested table is empty or does not exist
ERR :VRF The requested table is empty or does not exist

$snmpwalk -v 3  -u <usr> -l authPriv -a md5  -A <pw> -x des -X  <pw>  <Device> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.86.1.1.2
iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.86.1.1.2 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

Any ideas what is to configure at the cisco switch?

Hello Rickli,

I can confirm that at both core swtches the interfaces use the same virtual IP address for GLBP

$ snmpwalk  -m All -v 2c -c public <CoreSwitch01>  2>/dev/null | grep -e ipAdEntIfIndex | grep -e 192.168.50
RFC1213-MIB::ipAdEntIfIndex.192.168.50.1 = INTEGER: 223
RFC1213-MIB::ipAdEntIfIndex.192.168.50.2 = INTEGER: 223

$ snmpwalk  -m All -v 2c -c public <CoreSwitch02>  2>/dev/null | grep -e ipAdEntIfIndex | grep -e 192.168.50
RFC1213-MIB::ipAdEntIfIndex.192.168.50.1 = INTEGER: 154
RFC1213-MIB::ipAdEntIfIndex.192.168.50.3 = INTEGER: 154

Feature request for 1.08: IP used on other devs or just this one?

At inc/libsnmp.pm the warning event for duplicated configured IPs will created only if interface at this device is not shut. It works in one direction perfect. But if compare a no shut interface with a shut interface on an other device the warning event rises.

Thank you for the tips.

Regards

 Peter

Hello,

with NeDi 1.08-027 I see following event at warning level:

 Source <CoreSwitch02>:  Info: 192.168.50.1/24 on Vl100 is configured on <CoreSwitch01>, <CoreSwitch02>

with NeDi 1.07 I see following event at warning level:

  Source <CoreSwitch02>: Info: Duplicate IP 192.168.50.1  found on <CoreSwitch01>, <CoreSwitch02>

Following configuration at both Cat6500 IOS 12.2 SXJ core switches:

 ...
  interface Vlan100
   description lan,staff, ...
   ip address 192.168.50.2 255.255.255.0
   no ip redirects
   glbp 100 ip 192.168.50.1
   glbp 100 priority 110
   glbp 100 authentication text xxx
   glbp 100 name staff
 ...

There are no warning events for Cat6500 IOS 12.2 SXH core switches with HSRP configuration.

At HP Blade Enclosures with Onboard Administrator Moduls I see following warning event:

  Source <VCD-Interconnect> : Info: 169.254.201.24/16 on tap0 is configured on <VCD-Interconnect>, <Onboard Administrator Modul>

Any ideas or hints what can be happen here and how to fix or filter it?

Regards

 Peter

Hello,

at my installation "Locate me IP" for NeDi 1.08-309 shows wrong traffic, errros, discards and broadcasts counters.

My patch for "Locate me IP" for NeDi 1.08-309 (<nedipath>/html/me.php) with little modifications for traffic, errros, discards, broadcasts and a little bit of debugging.

General Topics / Re: config backup
« on: November 02, 2012, 10:29:21 PM »
Hello Tristan,

there is a script bulkdelete.sh at <nedi>/contrib/, but I never tried it.

May you can try once more to discover, get the ssh keys, start a refresh-run with detailed logging messages and check only some of the 50 devices:
- discover, starting at the devip:
    sudo -u www-data /var/nedi/nedi.pl  -v -p -A "inet_ntoa(devip) regexp '^172.16.*$|^192.168.*$'"
- optional get ssh keys (check your nedi.conf:usessh) :
    sudo -u www-data /var/nedi/nedi.pl  -v -k -A "inet_ntoa(devip) regexp '^172.16.*$|^192.168.*$'"
- refresh-run:
    sudo -u www-data /var/nedi/nedi.pl  -v  -A "inet_ntoa(devip) regexp '^172.16.*$|^192.168.*$'"

May you get a hint from the logging messages what is going wrong. May check your device definition files (for example 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.697.def) for the devices. In one situations I saw this messages for a device with connection problems at the uplink. I saw the messages for a router with many IP-Addresses (check your nedi.conf:useip variable). In an other situation I saw the message when the device definition file was wrong (Minor Firmware Version was different). You can check the OID with snmpget.

For example:
    snmpget -v2c -c<community string> <device-address> 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0
    iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0 = OID: iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.697
