Title: VSS and link discovering
Post by: steffen1 on September 21, 2010, 12:31:23 PM
I saw at different discussions in the forum that some are dealing with Nedi and VSS in deap.

Without getting deaper in that problem, one thing was noticeable for me when I got in contact using Nedi with VSS:
In all networks where the Cisco6500 has been changed to VSS, nedi has stopped working in link discovery for those devices (CDP). Does anybody know the cause of this problem?

I have the same problem.

We had an old CatOS 6506 that we changed to a pair of 6509 vss.
I do not get any L2 links ether with cdp?

I added the def from:
When I run with a timeout 2 there is no error, but no link shows up.
But when I change to a timeout 45 i get an error:
Code: [Select]
root@jadda.jadda.jadda:/opt/nedi# ./  -d

LWP loaded
Net::SSH::Perl not available
OUI:    15969 NIC vendor entries read
DEV:    249 devices read from nedi.devices
LINK:   0 links (WHERE type = "STAT") read from nedi.links

Unfortunately I don't really have access to a VSS couple, thus I rely on the community for a fix...
