Title: CDP Discovery Being Strange - Ignoring CDP in favor of LLDP
Post by: dlrash on February 15, 2019, 06:07:19 pm
Hey Guys,

We are running Nedi 1.7 on Centos 6 and have recently been seeing some oddity with our "links" field.  (See image)
They all appear red or gray and when doing a discovery we notice its now saying "Ignoring CDP in favor of LLDP-MED"
We do not run LLDP on any of our Cisco hardware and in all of the Def files, CDP is the only discovery protocol selected.

We did a couple installations of Perl libraries in order to try to get SNMPV3 fully functional around the time this started happening, but I want to say this was working even after the installation of those modules and started happening more recently than that.

Any suggestions to try?

Strange, indeed! Are those neighbors all connected to Gi0/0/1? Is there a MPLS or similar in between?

Yes, they are all connected via a VPLS.  However, this is also occurring on directly-connected switches.
