Title: Nedi and IPv6 support
Post by: steffen1 on January 04, 2012, 11:41:26 AM
Hello,

I want to ask if there is something planned to give NeDi IPv6 support?

Indeed I want to start in 1oh8. I'll most likely store the address in 2 bigints and use a tinyint for the masklength.  In a first approach I'd add the columns to nodes and networks. Unless someone has a better idea?

It would be great if people who've looked into this already could post some interesting OIDs...

It would be also disireable to support IPv4/6 dual stack, so to store v6 and v4 in independend fields

Sure, that's the idea. It would make NeDi a very useful IPv6 migration tool! So, hopefully the community can help me finding the best suitable MIBs...

everything usefull I will find out regarding IPv6 I will post out. But its more future staff to come realy in touch with it.
Its mostly a mandatory requirement in tenders for NMS but with real need in the perhaps next 20+ years after all:)
